Brought out by Jonathan Cape from 1926 priced 3/6 The books were in blue cloth with Chinese yellow dustwrappers. 6 volumes came out in April followed by 15 others 216 titles appeared up to 1939. The first editions were issued in print runs of between 2000 & 5000 After the Second World War an attempt was made to revive the series, unsuccessfully.]
